Annual Chamber Banquet — January

Lufkin Pitser Garrison Civic Center — (936) 634-6644
This annual event features a keynote speaker, year-in-review presentation, and steak dinner. The Angelina and Golden Anvil Awards are also presented during the banquet.

Lufkin/Angelina County Day Legislative Reception — February

Austin, Texas — (936) 634-6644
Held annually, this event honors state officials, legislators, and agencies. In addition to the reception, briefings, meetings, and photo opportunities are available to attendees.

Angelina County Youth Fair — February

This annual event allows Angelina County students to present their projects for competition in divisions of livestock, arts and crafts, home economics, and ag mechanics. The event culminates with the Annual Youth Fair Auction where students sell their projects to local businesses and supporters.

Angelina Benefit Rodeo — April

Held the last full weekend in April, this is one of the finest rodeos in Texas. It is an official stop on the PRCA circuit and attracts more than 25,000 people each year.

Angelina County Science & Tech Fair — May

This annual event allows 6th-12th graders to compete in science and technology-related competitions. Competitions include Catapult, Eggonaut Rocket, Egg-Car-Go, Eggstraction, Invention, and Life Science Project.

National Tourism Week — May

Lufkin Convention & Visitors Bureau — (936) 634-6305
The Lufkin Convention and Visitors Bureau uses this week-long celebration to educate citizens and city officials about the positive impact travel and tourism have on the local economy. In commemoration of Tourism Week, the LCVB sponsors such events as the “Quest for the Best” lodging facility award program, “Developing Tourism” photo contest, Texas Friendly Hospitality Training, and “Operation Lather Gather.”

Annual Expo Anniversary Party — May

This Party is an annual event that raises funds necessary for the maintenance and upkeep of the Expo Center. The evening’s activities include a reception, gun raffle, bucket raffle, silent auction, live auction, and steak dinner.

Tee It Up For Teachers — June

Funds from the tournament provide training opportunities for Angelina County teachers from the county’s 6 independent school districts.

Neches River Rendezvous — June

Held each summer, the Neches River Rendezvous is a scenic 10-mile trip down the Neches River. It’s a family-oriented canoe trip complete with shuttle service and a hamburger lunch.

Texas State Forest Festival — September

Held the fourth week in September, this festival features several events including the Southern Hushpuppy Championships, a master chain saw sculptor, petting zoo, giant carnival, lumberjack show, concerts, specialty acts, and more.

Pineywoods Purgatory — October

The Pineywoods Purgatory is a 25-, 52-, 72- and 102-mile bicycle ride through the rolling hills of East Texas that attracts the majority of its riders from out of town.

Evening in Old Bethlehem — December

This holiday celebration includes the Christmas story recreated in special Friday and Saturday night shows. You’ll enjoy strolling through the streets of Bethlehem and talking with the townspeople about the news of the newborn King.

Monthly Events

First Friday Luncheon
This monthly event features a keynote speaker, incentive drawing, announcements, and lunch. Held on the first Friday of each month, the luncheon typically occurs at Crown Colony Country Club at 12:00 noon. Tickets to attend the event are $15.00 each.
Power Networking Breakfast
Held the fourth Friday monthly at 8:00 a.m. in the Chamber Community Room, this event features breakfast, door prizes, networking, and a guest speaker.
Business After 5 (formerly Chamber Night Out)
The purpose of Business After 5 is to afford Chamber investors the opportunity to enjoy networking in an informal atmosphere and allow Chamber members the opportunity for exposure to their business by hosting a Business After 5 event. The event is held monthly at various locations and typically features food, drinks, a short program, and door prizes.
