The ATHENA Leadership Award® Program

Supporting, Honoring, and Developing Women Leaders

The ATHENA Leadership Award® is presented to a woman who is honored for professional excellence, community service and for actively assisting women in their attainment of professional excellence and leadership skills.

Embodying the qualities of the ATHENA Leadership Model®, developed through a grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the ATHENA Leadership Award® represents eight distinct attributes that are reflective of women’s contributions to leadership: Authentic Self, Relationships, Giving Back, Collaboration, Courageous Acts, Learning, Fierce Advocacy, Celebration and Joy.

The ATHENA Leadership Award® Recipients are individuals who fit this criteria:

  • Demonstrate excellence, creativity, and initiative in their business or profession.
  • Provide valuable service by contributing time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community.
  • Actively assist women in realizing their full leadership potential.

Nominations will be taken through March 30, 2012. Please submit a deserving person’s name and a written description of how this person meets the above criteria. Letters of recommendation are not required but encouraged. An anonymous committee will select the recipient.
