Sarah Adams
Sarah Adams is representing Angelina County & Cities Health District in this year’s Leadership Lufkin class. Sarah is the Immunization Director for Angelina County & Cities Health District which involves working with the school districts, hospitals, and medical community to direct immunization practices and ACIP recommendations. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, sewing, and watching/attending sporting events. Sarah and her husband Jamie has four children—Lindsey, Ryan, Josh and Jacob.
Glen Arnold
Glen Arnold, representing the Lufkin High School Alumni Association, is the Executive Director and oversees the day-to-day running of the association. He is a graduate of Texas A&M and has lived in Lufkin most of his life. Glen’s hobbies are golf, outdoor activities, and spending time with his wife, JonAnna, and their three children, Kimberlin, Charlie, and Addyson. Glen stays busy being a youth camp counselor, a member of the Lions Club, and Youth Leader for the First United Methodist Church Men’s Group.
Tiffany Blackwood
Representing Memorial Health System of East Texas is Tiffany Blackwood. Tiffany is a Clinical Dietition for Memorial which involves providing education and intervention to a hospital population that is at nutritional risk, dietary modifications, and nutrition support management. Tiffany graduated from Stephen F. Austin and was named Outstanding Dietetic Student in 2002. In her free time, Tiffany is involved with softball through the Lufkin Parks & Recreation, biking, as well as many other outdoor activities. She also participates in the Community Health Fairs. Tiffany has lived in Angelina County for 3 years and is married to James Blackwood, a member of the 2006-2007 Leadership Lufkin class.
Lynne Booker
Lynne Booker represents The Blood Center of East Texas in this years Leadership Lufkin class. She is the account representative, working out of the Nacogdoches office, servicing and recruiting donor groups in a four-county area. Lynne attended Oklahoma State University and has lived in the area for 20 year. She is involved in the Volunteer Services Council of the Lufkin State School, a sustaining member of the Junior League of Lufkin, and is a First Christian Church Elder and Sunday School teacher. Lynne spends her free time with her daughter, Blaire, and their two dachshunds.
Larry Cain
Larry Cain is representing United Planners Financial Services and Cookie Advantage in this year’s Leadership Lufkin class. Larry is self employed as a financial advisor for United Planners Financial Services and a partner in the Cookie Advantage. Larry and his wife Debra have lived in Angelina County for approximately 3-1/2 years. In his free time, Larry enjoys playing tennis and wood working.
Molina Courtney
Molina Courtney is representing Huntington State Bank in this year’s Leadership Lufkin class and is this year’s class Historian. Molina is an Assistant Vice President/Banking Manager at Huntington State Bank. She is the Branch Manager of the Zavalla branch and is responsible for lending, account processing, and daily operations. Molina is active in her church, participates in school activities with her husband Joey, and enjoys crafts in her spare time.
Manse Draper
Representing Jewell Hudgens Machine Co. in Leadership Lufkin is Manse Draper. Manse does sales and consulting for Jewell Hudgens and is responsible for customer relations, sales, on site evaluations, in-house organizations of work, bidding, and roller inspections. Manse is a graduate of McMurry University, Abilene, Texas but has lived in Angelina County most of his life. In his free time, Manse enjoys hunting, fishing, and just about any outdoor activities.
David Ellis
David Ellis represents Woodland Heights Medical Center in the 2007-2008 Leadership Lufkin class. David is the Director of Therapy Services which includes overseeing the clinical and administrative operation of 25 therapy service employees plus chairing the employee wellness program for 200 employees. David received his Master’s degree in Health Services and has lived in Lufkin for almost 2 years with his wife Lisa and their two children—Riley and Lauren. When David is not working, he enjoys being an assistant coach for soccer, yard work and spending time with his children and family.
Stephen King
Stephen King is representing Consolidated Communications this year in Leadership Lufkin. He is a Senior Manager of Engineering for Consolidated and spends his time managing outside plant engineering teams in Lufkin, Conroe, Katy, and Mattoon, Illinois. In his spare time, Stephen enjoys hunting, fishing, home projects, and spending time with his wife Amy and two children—Brett and Cade.
WilliamLambert
William Lambert is representing Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control in this year’s Leadership Lufkin class. William is the Asc. Quality Assurance Manager and spends his time supervising a team of quality engineers, inspectors, and technicians. Outside of work, William is involved in Friends of the Neches and Habitat for Humanities. William and his wife, Lorraine, have three children—Jessica, Brenna, and Krista. William’s hobbies are farm work, hunting, and back packing.
Angelina McCarty
Representing Lufkin Industries, Inc., in Leadership Lufkin is Angelia McCarty. Angelia is the Manager of Cost Accounting for Lufkin Industries and is responsible for their global income statement. She has lived in Angelina County most of her life and is involved with volunteering for Junior Achievement and the Special Olympics. She also serves on the board of the Kurth Memorial Library. Angelia is married to Anthony McCarty and they have one son, Joshua. In her free time, Angelia enjoys camping, fishing, reading and spending time with her family.
Tony Moline
Tony Moline is representing Angelina Beautiful/Clean in this year’s Leadership Lufkin class. He is the Executive Director of Angelina Beautiful/Clean and responsible for the daily operations, promotions, recycling, clean-up, law enforcement, fund raising, and educational activities for Angelina County. Tony is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. Tony interned for State Senator Todd Staples and was an inaugural member of the United States Model House of Representatives. He is currently a member of the Lion’s Club and on the Board of Main Street Lufkin and the Lufkin Landscape Task Force. In his free time, Tony enjoys camping, grilling, traveling, and spending time with his wife, Devan.
Lindsey Mott
Lindsey Mott is representing Memorial Health System of East Texas in the 2007-2008 Leadership Lufkin class. Lindsey is a Marketing Coordinator for Memorial and is responsible for community involvement and organization of health fairs and special events. She is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin with a BBA in Marketing and Sociology and is currently volunteering her time in the Lufkin/Angelina County Chamber of Commerce Diplomats and on the Budget Committee of the United Way. Lindsey is married to Joe Frank Mott and she enjoys spending her free time with family and people watching.
Chad Murray
Chad Murray is representing Brookshire Brothers this year in the Leadership Lufkin class. Chad works at Brookshire Brothers as the Frozen/Fresh Meat Facility Manager where he oversees the facility operations of employing, production, safety and budget. He is a native of Angelina County and is currently attending Angelina College. Chad has served on the board of the Adoption Center of East Texas. In his spare time, Chad enjoys hunting, golfing, and spending time with his wife, Mistie, and their son Caleb.
Bill Newton
Bill Newton is representing Angelina Plastic Surgery in this year’s Leadership Lufkin class. Bill is the surgeon/owner of Angelina Plastic Surgery and has been a resident of Angelina County for approximately 10 years. He volunteers his time to the Boy Scouts as a scout leader and has done this for many years. In his free time, Bill enjoys backpacking, skiing, camping, and driving fast cars. He and his wife Brenda have one son, Sean at the University of North Texas.
Richard Noble
Representing The Blood Center of East Texas is Richard Noble. Richard is the Manager of The Blood Center of East Texas Lufkin and spends his time overseeing daily workings of the Blood Center, maintaining high quality standards and compliance at all government levels. Richard is a native of East Texas and a graduate of Angelina College. He enjoys fishing and hunting in his free time.
Vickie Yarbrough Starks
Vickie Yarbrough Starks is representing Aspen Power, LLC, Gloria Toran, and Victor Travis in this year’s Leadership Lufkin class. Vickie is a Radiologic Technologest at Memorial Health Systems of East Texas, but finds time to volunteer at the Lufkin Community Development Team counseling youth and helping the elderly. Vickie was awarded Who’s Who Among Students in Junior Colleges 2004 and was on the Dean’s List at Angelina College. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, traveling, counseling, and spending time with her husband, Billy Starks and two children—Ashlee Nicole and Ashanti Jy’Ree.
Barbara Thompson
Barbara Thompson is representing the City of Lufkin in this year’s Leadership Lufkin class. Barbara is a native of Arkansas and graduated from Southern Arkansas University with a Business degree. Barbara is the Director of Main Street and is responsible for coordinating the administration of the Main Street program and its committees, as well as developing the Board-appropriated downtown revitalization strategies, public awareness and education programs. She serves as an advocate for downtown issues on local, state and national levels as she assists business and property owners with property improvement projects. Barbara is active in the community where she serves on the boards of the Angelina Arts Alliance, Angelina Beautiful/Clean, and the City’s Undoing Racism Task Force. She is a member of the Texas Municipal League, the National Forum for Black Public Administrators, and Lufkin Tourist and Convention Council. Barbara and her husband, Tommy, have four children—Tansi, Mario, Sidney and Gary.
Francine Tieperman
Representing Commercial Bank of Texas in this year’s Leadership Lufkin class is Francine Tieperman. Francine is an assistant vice president and loan officer for Commercial Bank of Texas. She also serves in the Lufkin/Angelina County Chamber of Commerce Diplomats and the Rotary Club. She volunteers for the Angelina Arts Alliance and is very active in Harmony Hill Church. In her free time, Francine loves spending time with her 7-year old daughter Brianna, scrapbooking, bike riding, reading and swimming.
Craig Walker
Craig Walker is representing Memorial Health System of East Texas in this year’s Leadership Lufkin class. Craig is the Vice President of Business Development for Memorial and has a masters degree in health administration from Texas State University. Craig has 13 years of experience as a legislative and government healthcare lobbyist and is involved in the creation of a satelIite campus in Livingston with the School of Nursing at Angelina College. Craig has recently accepted the position of Chairman of the Government Foundation for Vision 2020. In his spare time, Craig volunteers at St. Cyprian’s School and enjoys reading and carpentry. He and his wife, Bianca, have two children—Liam and Sylvia.
