Leadership Lufkin Welcome Reception
On August 4, 2009, the 2009-2010 Leadership Lufkin class met at Lufkin's Pitzer Garrison Civic Center. This is the first time the class has met, so it is a night of introductions and getting to know each other, and learning what to expect from 9 months of Leadership Lufkin.

Local Ecomony Day
This was a Leadership Lufkin session devoted to learn about the local economy and economic development in our county. This session was held on September 10, 2009.

Community Leadership Day
November 5th was Leadership Lufkin's Community Leadership and Volunteer Opportunities Day. The class spent the day learning about serving on boards and volunteer opportunities in Angelina County.

Social Services Day
January 7, 2010 was a day to visit some of the incredible social services that are available to Angelina County.

Education Day
April 15, 2010 was a day to learn about the outstanding educational facilities located ineach of our 6 school districts. Tours of all schools and some of the privaate facilities were also on the agenda.

Leadership Lufkin Retreat
This was a 2-day retreat held at the Lakeview Methodist Conference Center outside of Palestine to learn team building skills while bonding and getting to know each other.

City and County Government Day
October 8, 2009 was City/County Government Day for the Leadership Lufkin class. They studied our local and county government adn had lunch with the Mayor.

Past, Present & Future/Quality of Life Day
December 3, 2009 was a day set aside to take a look at the assets we have in our community that provide us with the quality of life that we so enjoy. The day was also a look at our historywhere we've come from and where we are going.

Health Care Day
This day, March 4, 2010, was a day to tour some of the health care faciilties and visit behind the scenes.

Graduation
The 2009-2010 Leadership Lufkin class graduated on May 25, 2010 with a celebration dinner and awards. It was a festive and fun event.
