Gattefossé inaugurates new manufacturing facility in Lufkin

GATTEFOSSÉ

PRESS RELEASE - Lyon, France - September, 25, 2025

Gattefossé, a leading provider of specialty ingredients and formulation solutions for personal care and pharmaceutical  industries, celebrated the grand opening of its new manufacturing facility in Lufkin, Texas. The inauguration ceremony gathered local and national officials, including Congressman Pete Sessions and Mayor Mark Hicks, alongside Gattefossé executives, customers, partners, employees, and community members.

This major investment represents a pivotal milestone in Gattefosse's global growth strategy, expanding its production capabilities in North America and reinforcing its position as a top international supplier.

Strengthening Gattefossé's presence in North America

Founded in 1880 and headquartered in France, Gattefossé is a recognized global leader in lipid and plant chemistry, developing innovative natural ingredients worldwide. Present in the United States since 1982 with offices in Paramus, New Jersey, and reinforced in 2017 with the opening of its Technical Center of Excellence, the company now strengthens its presence further with a new state-of-the-art manufacturing site in Lufkin, Texas.

The Lufkin plant is dedicated to lipid-based excipients and was designed with the dual ambition of increasing production capacity and reinforcing Gattefossé's presence in North America, a region that is both a leading market and a global trendsetter for pharmaceuticals and personal care.

This expansion is also the result of a strong partnership with the City of Lufkin, whose leaders and community have embraced Gattefosse·s vision for sustainable growth.

Congressman Pete Sessions (TX-17) said, "I am proud to welcome Gattefossé to Lufkin. This investment is a testament to the world-class manufacturing capabilities of our workforce and reflects the confidence international companies place in the United States as a strong and reliable partner. International cooperation drives shared prosperity, and I look forward to the jobs, innovation, and economic development this project will bring to East Texas."

"Our location between Dallas, Houston, and Shreveport offers strong logistical advantages for industry, while maintaining the small-town values and quality of life that define who we are. This new facility signals momentum, showing that Lufkin is growing, thriving, and competing on a larger scale." explained Mayor Mark Hicks.

A responsible and transformative investment

This new facility represents the most significant investment in the Group's history. It was conceived as a long-term commitment to customers, offering increased production capacity, secured supply chains, and optimized lead times, all while maintaining the same high-quality standards delivered across the globe.

In March 2025, the Lufkin plant was awarded three world-class certifications - ISO 9001. EFfCI GMP, and EXCiPACT - recognizing Gattefossé's rigorous approach to quality, safety, and compliance in both pharmaceutical and cosmetic ingredient manufacturing. In addition to efficiency and performance, the site was designed according to LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification criteria, ensuring it meets the highest environmental standards.

Diana Trepanier, Vice President Procurement, Pharma & Consumer Health at Catalent, welcomed this opening as a strategic move for the entire industry: "Our partnership with Gattefossé is rooted in history, shaped by science, and built on trust. This new U.S.-based footprint is more than an operational expansion; it's a powerful lever for performance. By locating closer to our development sites and manufacturing hubs, Gattefossé reduces supply risk, strengthens resilience, and ensures real-time collaboration. In our fast-moving world, proximity isn't a convenience, it's a competitive advantage. This investment tells the world that Gattefosse is scaling with purpose and strengthening the reliability and quality of the entire supply chain."

An industrial footprint designed for global reach

The inauguration of the Lufkin site is a new chapter in Gattefossé's industrial development. The Group's main plant in Saint-Priest. near Lyon, France, created in 1966, combines oleochemistry and plant chemistry. In 2012, Gattefossé reinforced its presence in Asia with a production line in Singapore. By adding a U.S.-based manufacturing hub, Gattefossé now secures an industrial footprint across three continents.

This global network ensures resilient supply chains, greater proximity to customers, and consistent product quality worldwide, reinforcing Gattefossé's role as a trusted partner for the health and beauty industries.

"The opening of our new plant in Lufkin marks a major milestone in our company's journey. This investment is not about short-term gain, it is about building a foundation that will serve our customers for decades to come. Choosing the United States was a strategic decision: this region is not only a leading market but also a key driver of global trends in pharmaceuticals and personal care. This plant is more than a building; it is a promise to grow, to
innovate, and to create value together with confidence, responsibility, and passion". Segolene M0YRAND-GR0S, President, Gattefossé Group.
