Helping Youth Find Their Path: Teen Summit Set for April 18
Local students will have the opportunity to learn, grow, and be inspired at an upcoming Teen Summit hosted by the Concerned Black Men of Lufkin.
The event, “Your Journey Starts Here: Unlocking Your Potential,” will take place on April 18, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Lufkin Middle School Auditorium.
Designed for students ages 12–18 (grades 6–12), the summit is focused on helping young people better understand their potential and the impact of the choices they make today. The public is also invited to attend.
A Morning of Insight and Encouragement
The summit will feature a lineup of keynote speakers who will address topics relevant to today’s youth:
- Ivorie Ford will speak on cyberbullying and navigating challenges in the digital world
- Brian Bass will share insights on why school and education matter
- David Rodriguez will address teen violence and making positive decisions
Together, these speakers bring real-world experience and relatable perspectives aimed at equipping students with tools for success.
Investing in the Future
The summit reflects the mission of the Concerned Black Men of Lufkin: mentoring today’s youth and preparing them to become tomorrow’s leaders. By focusing on education, personal responsibility, and long-term success, the event encourages students to build a strong foundation early in life.
To ensure a welcoming and engaging experience, free breakfast will be served at 9:00 a.m., with lunch provided at 1:00 p.m.
