Ward 1 to Host Quarterly Community Conversations with Lufkin Police Chief David Thomas Brazil

Residents of Ward 1 are invited to join Councilwoman Angela Hobbs-Spencer and Lufkin Police Chief David Thomas Brazil for the next installment of the Quarterly Community Conversations series on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Brandon Community Center, 1612 Keltys Street in Lufkin.

The free community event, titled "Meet the Chief: Let's Talk About It!", is designed to provide residents with an opportunity to engage directly with city leadership and discuss issues impacting neighborhoods across Lufkin.

Chief Brazil will lead conversations on a variety of important topics, including:

  • Community policing initiatives
  • Public safety alerts and crime prevention
  • Protecting senior citizens from scams and fraud
  • Supporting and engaging local youth
  • Other issues and concerns important to residents

The Quarterly Community Conversations series was created to encourage open communication, strengthen community relationships, and ensure residents have direct access to local leaders and information that affects their daily lives.

"This is an opportunity for our community to ask questions, share concerns, and learn more about the efforts underway to keep Lufkin safe and connected," said Councilwoman Angela Hobbs-Spencer. "When we come together and have meaningful conversations, we build stronger neighborhoods and a stronger city."

Light refreshments will be provided, and all community members are encouraged to attend.
