Leadership Lufkin Class 44 Begins with Two-Day Retreat

August 24, 2026

Leadership Lufkin Class 44 officially began its nine-month journey with a two-day retreat focused on teamwork, communication, and building relationships.

The retreat gave class members a chance to step away from their daily routines, get to know one another, and begin working together as a team. Through group activities, shared conversations and a few challenges along the way, the class started building the trust that will carry them through the months ahead.

The retreat is an important first step in the Leadership Lufkin experience. Over the next nine months, Class 44 will take a closer look at local government, education, healthcare, economic development, nonprofit organizations, and other areas that shape life in Angelina County. They will meet local leaders, visit organizations throughout the community, and work together on a class project.

The Lufkin/Angelina County Chamber of Commerce is excited to see how Class 44 grows throughout the program and how each member uses what they learn to make a difference where they live and work.

Thank you to Corrigan OSB, LLC/RoyOMartin for sponsoring Leadership Lufkin Class 44 and supporting the development of local leaders.
