Registration is now open for the 2026 Workforce Solutions Deep East Texas Inaugural Summit, The Power of Progress: Where Education Meets Industry. This highly anticipated event will bring together educators, industry leaders, workforce professionals, and community partners dedicated to strengthening the future of the regional workforce. The event will be held in Lufkin, Texas, at the Pitser Garrison Convention Center on Thursday, June 18, 2026.

The summit highlights the critical role of collaboration between education and industry in building sustainable workforce pipelines. By fostering these partnerships, the event aims to create pathways that equip individuals with the skills, training, and opportunities necessary to succeed in today’s rapidly evolving economy.

“This summit represents the power of collaboration across sectors,” said Workforce Solutions Deep East Texas Executive Director Dr. Ty Cauthen. “Together, we are strengthening partnerships that support employers, empower job seekers, and drive economic growth throughout Deep East Texas.”

Attendees can expect a day filled with meaningful dialogue, innovative ideas, and forward-thinking solutions designed to shape the workforce of tomorrow. The keynote speaker for the day is Paul Fain, co-founder of Work Shift, an independent news site covering the intersection of education, work, and economic opportunity. Additional guests include Charlie Glover of the T.L.L. Temple Foundation, Dr. Kelty Garbee and Evan Wolstencroft of Texas Rural Funders, Texas Workforce Commission Commissioner Brent Connett, and other local experts on workforce, education, industry, and business interests.
