City of Lufkin Announces July 4th Celebration at Ellen Trout Zoo Park

 

The City of Lufkin invites residents and visitors to celebrate Independence Day at the 2026 July 4th Celebration, presented by Mike Love & Associates LLC, on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at Ellen Trout Zoo Park, located at 402 Zoo Circle in Lufkin.

 

As part of Lufkin’s ongoing America 250 Celebration, this family-friendly event will feature live music presented by Ferrara’s Heating & Air Conditioning, food trucks, vendors, family activities, and a fireworks display at dusk.

 

Festivities begin at 5:00 PM and continue throughout the evening.

 

Entertainment Schedule

5:00 PM — Fry

5:00 PM to 9:00 PM — Foam-O-Rama Foam Pit

6:00 PM — Tris Day

7:00 PM to 9:00 PM — Zack Mason & The Jars

Dusk — Fireworks Show

 

“This celebration is one of the highlights of our America 250 initiative,” said Tara Hendrix, Director of Tourism for Visit Lufkin. “It gives families, neighbors, and visitors the opportunity to come together for live music, family fun, and fireworks while celebrating 250 years of America right here in Lufkin.”

 

To help attendees enjoy a convenient experience, a free shuttle service will operate between Lufkin High School and Ellen Trout Zoo Park.

 

Shuttle Pick-Up and Drop-Off:

Lufkin High School

309 S. Medford Drive

Lufkin, Texas

 

Shuttle Hours:

5:00 PM to 8:30 PM

Return shuttles will run immediately following the fireworks display.

 

For public safety during the fireworks show, Loop 287 from US 59 North to US 69 North will be closed from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Attendees are encouraged to plan accordingly and arrive early.

 

Visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets, sunscreen, reusable water bottles, portable fans, and family and friends to enjoy an evening of patriotic celebration.

 

Admission to the event is free and open to the public.

 

The July 4th Celebration is one of several events taking place throughout 2026 as part of the Angelina County and City of Lufkin America 250 Celebration, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States.
