BOM Bank to Host Free Fraud Awareness Event for Seniors in Lufkin
Protecting Yourself Starts with Knowing What to Look For
Financial scams are becoming increasingly sophisticated, and seniors are often among the most targeted victims. To help our community stay informed and protected, BOM Bank is hosting Coffee, Kolaches & Common Scams, a free fraud awareness event designed specifically for senior adults.
The event will take place on Thursday, July 2, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at LifePoint Church, located at 4737 Ted Trout Drive in Lufkin. Attendees will enjoy complimentary coffee, donuts, and kolaches while learning practical ways to recognize and avoid common scams.
Participants will gain valuable insights on:
- Avoiding common scams
- Recognizing warning signs and red flags
- Protecting personal and financial information
- Keeping their finances secure in an increasingly digital world
The featured speaker will be Randy Deaton, retired FBI agent and BOM Bank Security Officer, who will share expert advice and real-world examples of fraud schemes targeting individuals today.
This informative morning is free to attend, but reservations are encouraged. To RSVP, call 936-639-6470.
As scams continue to evolve, education remains one of the best defenses. BOM Bank's commitment to community awareness and financial security makes this event a valuable opportunity for seniors, caregivers, and family members alike.
