SELF EARNS BOTOX® TREATMENT CERTIFICATION
Lufkin Women’s Center is proud to announce that Rachel Self, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, has completed botulinum toxin injector training with American Academy of Facial Esthetics (AAFE) and is now certified to offer botulinum toxin injections for TMJ, headaches, and facial pain.
“Our mission at Lufkin Women's Services is to provide the highest level of care to each of our patients, and we’re always looking for ways to expand our services and improve our skills,” said Kyle McMorries, MD, FACOG. “With this new certification, Rachel can offer help to patients seeking long-term relief from chronic migraines, tension headaches or various forms of facial pain.”
AAFE’s courses offer providers the opportunity to learn injectable safety protocols and anatomically based techniques proven to give patients the best therapeutic treatment outcomes. To earn the certification, participants must demonstrate clinical proficiency and practice on live patients with the proper materials, techniques, and instrumentation necessary to deliver trigger point therapy for therapeutic uses in the head and neck.
Self participated in AAFE’s Frontline TMJ and Facial Pain Therapy course and learned to identify and diagnose facial pain, discover cost-effective diagnostic tools and treatment techniques and develop comprehensive treatment plans. She also participated in the Foundational Botulinum Toxin and Dermal Fillers training, getting hands-on experience with all AAFE’s foundational total facial esthetics treatment techniques using neurotoxins and dermal fillers.
Lufkin Women’s Center provides preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic women’s health and wellness care and comprehensive treatment from adolescence through post-menopause. Providers deliver care using evidence-based practices and meet individual patient needs in a comfortable, efficient, and independent medical office environment.
Lufkin Women’s Center is located at 102 Westside Medical Blvd. in Lufkin. To schedule an appointment, call 936-220-1013. Self also sees patients at Nacogdoches Women’s Center.
