The Leader’s Table | A Ten-Week Leadership Series

About This Series

Leadership on Main Street looks different from what it does in the pages of Harvard Business Review. In a city like Lufkin, the person running the business is often the person unlocking the door, writing the paycheck, calling the customer, and answering to the family name on the sign out front. The stakes are personal. The relationships are long. And the margin for error is measured in reputation as much as revenue.

The Leader’s Table is a ten-week series written for Chamber Investors who are doing that work — small business owners, mid-size operators, nonprofit directors, and civic leaders who want to lead well without pretending to be someone they’re not. The arc begins with the leader’s interior life, moves out into the team and the operation, and ends with the community and the legacy.

Each piece can be read in ten minutes. Each one ends with a short reflection you can use at a staff meeting, on a drive home, or over coffee with another business owner. Take what serves you. Leave what doesn’t. And pass the rest along to someone who needs it.
